Why Isn’t FocusZen Live Yet? What’s Going On with the App Review Process?

Hi everyone,

Many of you have been asking me: “When will FocusZen be available on the App Store?” or “Why can’t I download it on Android yet?”

And trust me—I’m just as eager as you are! So here’s a little behind-the-scenes insight into what’s really happening right now.

What is App Review, Anyway?

Before an app goes live on the App Store or Google Play, it must go through an app review process. That means real people (plus a bit of smart automation) check to make sure the app:

works correctly, follows privacy and safety rules, and doesn’t have bugs that could cause problems for users.

Think of it like a security check at the airport—your app has to be cleared before it boards your phone.

Apple vs Google – What’s the Difference?

Google Play (Android):

Reviews usually take 1–3 business days. BUT: if it’s your first app submission, it can take up to 7 business days, sometimes longer. Google’s review teams are spread out globally, working around the clock, so status updates often come in the middle of the night or early morning (Europe time).

Apple App Store (iOS):

Apple operates more traditionally—they review during working hours in the U.S. (California / Pacific Time). That means reviews usually happen between 9 AM and 5 PM PT, which is 6 PM to 2 AM Central European Time (CET/CEST). Apple takes their review process very seriously. Even a small issue (like a missing screenshot or unclear privacy link) can delay the launch.

So What’s the Delay? Easter Holidays!

Between April 18–21, many teams at both Apple and Google had time off for Easter weekend.

Even if your app was already waiting in line for review, chances are nothing really moved during those days.

In reality, full review activity has only resumed today, April 22—so now we’re back in motion!

What’s Next?

FocusZen is ready. It’s built, tested, and now waiting for the final green light.

In the meantime:

we’re doing last-minute checks, polishing every tiny detail, and… practicing a little patience (with a lot of coffee!).

Thank you for your support, your questions, and your excitement.

I can’t wait for you to see what FocusZen can do.
